Below is an IMPORTANT procedural change announcement from UNITED CONCORDIA COMMERCIAL BUSINESS that will be implemented on June 1, 2013:
Starting June 1, 2013, United Concordia will only view electronic attachments with claims that are delivered electronically. United Concordia will NO LONGER view NEA “attachment control numbers” received on paper claims forms.
Please verify with your claims clearinghouse/vendor about the delivery mechanism for your United Concordia Commercial Business claims. Even though your office may submit claims electronically, the vendor/clearinghouse may be printing the electronic claims onto paper and mailing them to United Concordia with the attachment control number noted on the claim form. Beginning June 1, 2013, this continued practice will result in your electronic attachments not being viewed. In order to ensure that your claims with attachments are processed in the most timely and efficient manner, electronic attachments must accompany an electronically delivered claim. This change in policy is effective for claims sent to United Concordia, Pennsylvania Blue Shield, Highmark Blue Cross, Concordia Dental Plus, Concordia Preferred and Pennsylvania Blue Shield Dental Plus.
Fortunately for Dentrix eClaims customers, electronic claims and attachments are already delivered to United Concordia and its affiliates electronically, so there is no need to change current procedures.
Dentrix customers using an alternative method for claim submission will need to confirm with their service provider that their claims are delivered to United Concordia electronically and not printed and mailed.
