Customizing paint types

You can assign a paint type to a procedure in the Procedure Code Editor to determine how Dentrix draws the procedure on a tooth in the Patient Chart. The following default paint types are available:

1: Surface restoration

2: Pins

3: Posts

4: Apicoectomy

5: Abcess

6: Sealant

7: Crown - solid

8: Crown - hatched

9: Crown - outline

10: Root canal

11: 3/4 Crown - solid

12: 3/4 Crown - hatched

13: 3/4 Crown - outline

14: Bridge - solid

15: Bridge - hatched

16: Bridge - outline

17: Bridge retainer crown - solid

18: Bridge retainer crown - hatched

19: Bridge retainer crown - outline

20: Denture - solid

21: Denture - hatched

22: Denture - outline

23: Impacted - distal

24: Impacted - mesial

25: Drifting - distal

26: Drifting - mesial

27: Extraction

28: Implant - cylinder

29: Implant - blade

30: Unerupted

31: Open contact - mesial

32: Open contact - distal

33: Non-functional tooth

Note: Dentrix includes all available paint types. You cannot change or delete paint types. The ADA codes included with Dentrix are assigned paint types as applicable. However, you can assign the ADA code to a different paint type to fit your preference. For example, you could paint a crown "solid," "hatched," or "outline." Changing a description does not change what is painted for that paint type.
