Deleting medical insurance carriers

You can delete medical insurance carriers from the insurance carrier database.

To delete medical insurance carriers

1.   In the Maintenance menu in the Office Manager, point to Reference, and then click Insurance Maintenance.

The Insurance Maintenance dialog box appears.

2.   Click the Medical tab, and then click Purge.

The Purge Medical Insurance Plans dialog box appears.

3.   Do one of the following:

·        To delete a single carrier, select the carrier and click Delete.

·        To delete all of the listed carriers, click Delete All.

Note: If the carrier that you want to delete does not appear on the list, a patient or an outstanding claim is attached to it. You must clear the carrier from the patient's family file before you can delete it. To find the patient, print the Insurance Carrier list for that plan.

4.   Click Close.
