Instructions for downloading and installing eSync for Dentrix

  1. Disable your anti-virus software

Anti-virus software can cause software installs to fail
  2. Download eSync Software

Save the install file on your computer. Note the location of the saved file for steps 4 and 5.

Important Note: You may be required to download and install the .NET 3.5 Framework Service Pack 1 if you don’t already have it. Click here to Download .NET 3.5 SP1 if you’re alerted to this requirement during the eSync installation process.

  3. Install the eSync Software

Important Note: The eSync Gateway should be installed on the computer that will handle all eSync communications and processing that meets the following requirements:

    • The computer must maintain constant Internet access.
    • The computer must always be running.
    • The computer must be capable of handling a high networking and processing load.
You must install the eSync Gateway before any client versions; the first computer with Internet access on which you install eSync will be the eSync Gateway. It is recommended that you install the eSync Gateway on the same server as your Dentrix database - if it meets the above requirements.

You will be prompted to enter your Customer ID and Dentrix Serial Number. Make sure these are available and correctly entered.
  4. Install the eSync Client

Install the client on each workstation that is going to use eSync. You will be prompted to enter your customer ID and Dentrix Serial Number. Make sure these are available and correctly entered.

Important Note: Either the eSync Client or Gateway must be installed on the computer that contains your Dentrix server.

  5. Enable your anti-virus software

Enable your anti-virus software to continue protecting your system.

Important Note: Following successful installation of eSync, you will need to open the eSync Settings page and perform the required setup for each plug–in. Refer to the eSync plug–in Help guides for instruction.
