Frequently Asked Questions
Dentrix Study Clubs
Why would I want to join a Dentrix Study Club?
The objectives for the group are: 1) Learn more about Dentrix and how it can help you complete your assignments faster and more accurately; 2) Meet other dental professionals using Dentrix and learn what they’re doing to be successful; 3) Receive news about Dentrix, such as upgrade information, system specifications, sneak peeks at future upgrades, and new products and services.
Who can join the study club?
The members of any dental practice that uses Dentrix can join a Dentrix Study Club. Doctors, hygienists, dental assistants, office managers, and office staff are encouraged to join.
Are there any costs to join?
Some study clubs charge their members a nominal fee to cover drinks, snacks, and other incidental costs. These fees are collected and managed by the local study club, not Henry Schein Practice Solutions. Dentrix Study Clubs are organized and managed with little direct oversight from Henry Schein Practice Solutions.
When and where are study club meetings scheduled?
Meeting dates and times vary from group to group. To find a group near you, visit www.dentrix.com/usergroups/groups.
Who leads a Dentrix Study Club?
A study club is often organized by a Dentrix Certified Trainer, but any member of any dental practice that uses Dentrix can organize a study club. The group organizer conducts all meetings and is responsible for securing a meeting space, communicating meeting dates and times, growing and maintaining the study club membership, and preparing for meetings, such as setting up chairs, providing computers and/or A/V equipment, presenting topics, purchasing drinks and snacks, collecting study club fees, and coordinating with the local Henry Schein Dental Center.
How do practices learn about Dentrix Study Clubs?
To build awareness, Henry Schein Practice Solutions will initially announce to every Dentrix practice that they can join a study club in their area. Practices interested in attending a study club will be encouraged to register on line at www.dentrix.com/usergroups and, if necessary, contact the local organizer for more information. After registering and joining a group, a member will automatically receive notice of a meeting whenever the group organizer schedules one.
Where do Dentrix Study Clubs meet?
Groups are encouraged to use the local Henry Schein Dental Center. The local organizer should coordinate dates and times with the Center’s administrative assistant. Groups may also find it easy to meet at a doctor’s practice, a community center, public library, or other public facility. The location should allow the group to view or listen to a presentation without disturbance.
What topics do study clubs discuss?
Henry Schein Practice Solutions has created a series of recommended topics for each month. Organizers can download topic information with an outline and, given their familiarity with Dentrix, should be able to create a 45 to 60 minute presentation or discussion that will benefit the entire group. Of course, groups can also add other topics to their agenda to fit the local group’s particular needs and interests. However, the monthly topic provided by Henry Schein Practice Solutions has been selected to meet anticipated needs of the entire Dentrix user base; new feature spotlights is just an example of why study clubs should include these topics in their agendas. The group may also wish to invite selected representatives from Henry Schein Dental to introduce new products and services. These presentations should be educational in nature.

How long should a study club meeting last and how often should it meet?
Most group meetings should be no longer than 90 minutes, but your group can decide how long you wish to meet. While Henry Schein Practice Solutions has recommended monthly topics, your group may decide to meet quarterly, or every other month. In these cases, you may wish to combine topics or pick only the ones of most interest to your group.
Who presents at study club meetings?
If the group was organized by a Dentrix Certified Trainer, the trainer should present the main topic. Other topics and discussions can be led by any qualified member of the group.
Who can I contact if I have additional questions?
You can send your questions to dentrixusergroups@henryschein.com if you don’t find what you’re looking for here.
