What version of Dentrix will be used at the seminar?
Seminars are always taught with the most current version of Dentrix. The current seminars will use Dentrix G4.
What if I'm currently running an older version of Dentrix?
If your office is using Dentrix G2 or G3 you may find it helpful to review the G4 feature preview.
If you are using Dentrix version 11 or earlier, you will find that there have been many major updates to the software, and it is strongly recommended that you view the following free online content before coming to the seminar (at least the topics that will be covered in your class). It will improve your learning experience considerably to be introduced to these new features before the seminar.
I have never used Dentrix before but want to learn. What options do I have?
We recommend that those who have never used Dentrix before start with the Dentrix Learning Edition. It includes a DVD with a limited use version of Dentrix that you can install on your computer and a manual to teach you the basics of the program. The Dentrix Learning Edition sells for about $50 and can be ordered from our sales department by calling 1-800-Dentrix. The Essentials seminar would be the next step if you wanted to learn even more.
Note: We don't generally recommend that new users start with the Essentials seminar because it was designed for those who have some knowledge of the software already, and the pace is too fast for a brand new user. Additionally, the seminar doesn't include a CD with your own limited use version of Dentrix to take home and practice with.
Do I need to bring anything to the seminar?
We will provide a computer to use, along with a manual/study guide, pen, and highlighter. You may bring other materials for note-taking if you wish.
Will I have a computer to use?
We provide computers with Dentrix software installed for use at the seminar. There will be 1-2 people at each computer.
Is lunch provided?
Light snacks will be provided for break times, but lunch is not provided. There will be a 1-hour break at lunchtime so participants can go to a local restaurant or eat a lunch they've brought with them.
How do I cancel my registration?
Click here to view our cancellation policy.
What hotels are close by?
We have not designated any particular hotels for seminar participants. If you wish to ask the local seminar facility for recommendations go to the Dates and Locations page and click on the seminar you wish to attend, to see their contact information. Otherwise you can enter the facility address at a hotel service or website to see options nearby.
Do I get Continuing Education credits?
Henry Schein is an approved provider of Continuing Education credit classes for the Academy of General Dentistry. If you have provided us with your AGD number, the CE credits for the seminar will be submitted to the AGD by the seminars team on your behalf.
At the conclusion of the seminar you will receive a certificate of completion and a number of CE credits corresponding to the hours of training received. Please note that the rules and regulations for state licensing boards vary from state to state, so check with your licensing board to verify that practice management classes such as our seminars are an acceptable source of CE credits for your license renewal.
Is it better to go to a seminar or have in-office training?
Both options have their advantages. Seminars allow participants to leave the distractions of the office and focus on what they need to learn. You will also be able to interact with other Dentrix users and will receive a study guide that you can use as a reference. In-office training allows you to customize the topics you learn and doesn't require travel, but it does generally require that everyone shares the same computer screen so it is harder to see what the instructor is explaining.
