*PIN Debit requires the patient's input of a PIN number. PIN Debit results in faster settlement of funds, higher security and often lower merchant rates. Signature Debit requires a signature, like a credit card purchase, and is processed through credit card networks prior to the transfer of funds from the patient's checking account.
